League policies

Good to know
before game day

Lightning policy

When the Hendersonville Parks lightning detection system sounds a single horn, everyone (players, coaches, refs, officials, scorekeepers, Board) must exit the rink surface and bench areas and seek shelter immediately. No one is allowed inside the fenced areas while the strobe at the baseball concession stand is lit. Only after the triple horn sounds and the strobe is off (the All Clear) can play resume. Practices resume after the All Clear unless their scheduled time has passed. Games resume provided the next scheduled game is not delayed; scheduled game times are never pushed back to accommodate a lightning delay.

Refunds

Withdraw before the first game of the season and you receive a full refund, less anything the league already paid for your player such as jerseys or AAU fees. No refunds after the first game.

Rainouts: games

The league makes every attempt to play as scheduled. When weather makes games unsafe, they are postponed and rescheduled as soon as possible: later that day, during the week, or on an upcoming weekend. Notices go to all affected teams, coaches, and officials, ideally at least 30 minutes before game time, though that is not always possible.

Rainouts: practices

Coaches decide and notify their own teams when weather cancels a practice. Board members are volunteers and cannot be at the rink for every practice. Cancelled practices are typically not rescheduled.

Late registration

Registrations are not accepted after the cut-off date. Jerseys are ordered with each player's name, so players cannot be added once registration closes.

Board discretion

The HIHA Board of Directors reserves the right to modify, enforce, or not enforce any of these policies at its sole discretion at any time.

See you at the rinks.

Fall 2026 is underway. Spring 2027 registration will be announced on the league's socials.
